America's Seed Fund: Iowa Program
America's Seed Fund: Iowa Program enhances innovation by assisting Iowa companies in obtaining and applying for federal small business funding. This program reviews business ideas, offers professional proposal assistance and provides commitments to matching funds for Phase I and Phase II awards.
This is also known as the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Outreach Program.
Complementary support from IEDA includes:
- Initial idea review
- 100% of third-party proposal assistance
- $75,000 total financial support
- Phase I: $50,000 grant on top of any federal grant or contract
- Phase II: $25,000 grant upon submission of federal grant or contract
Who Qualifies?
- Iowa-based company legally formed and registered with the Iowa Secretary of State
- Fewer than 500 employees
- Innovative companies working on complex problems to solve real-world challenges
- Industry agnostic
- Feasability studies to validated concepts in Phase I
- Field testing, prototyping and scaling in Phase II
