Iowa Innovation Council

The Iowa Innovation Council (IIC) is an advisory group comprised of business leaders, public universities, representatives and community college officials charged with developing strategies to encourage and support innovation.

The IIC seeks to create an active partnership between state government, private industry and higher education to boost innovation and commercialization by new and existing Iowa businesses. Maintaining and expanding the economic performance of Iowa's targeted industries will depend on the ability to innovate and rapidly move new processes and products to the marketplace.

In conjunction with BioConnect Iowa, a public-private partnership with a mission to make Iowa a powerhouse of bioscience research and industry, the IIC facilitates a culture of innovation among the state’s universities, existing businesses, government and business startups.
